The STEVAL-ISA136V1 evaluation board provides a dimensional reference for designing isolated DC/DC buck converters. It features a high performance, well-designed, and compact solution for a complete off-line (AC/DC) SMPS. Its universal input voltage ranges from 85-265 VAC and is capable of delivering up to 60W of output power with an efficiency up to 91%. It functions as a reference design for isolated DC/DC buck converters and is suited to the following application fields:

• Power over Ethernet (PoE): The board provides a reference design for power over Ethernet applications that require high power density solutions. It can be used as a single board solution to provide both the DC/DC power and the AC/DC switching power.
• Industrial Control Systems: The board can be used as a reference design for designing isolated DC/DC and AC/DC switching power supplies for industrial control systems. It has been designed to meet the reliability, conductivity, and high temperature requirements of many applications.

The STEVAL-ISA136V1 evaluation board features an isolated configuration that separates the input and output sections in order to improve reliability and safety. It includes several protection functions such as overcurrent, overvoltage, short-circuit protection, over-temperature protection, and auto-restart with soft-start. It also features a built-in EMI filter that limits the range of emission radiation.

The board also includes an isolated power supply that allows an input voltage range from 85-265 VAC, a maximum output power of 60W, and an efficiency up to 91%. It is equipped with an STM32L05X ultra-low power microcontroller which provides access to the board’s digital parameters and operation modes. For added safety, the board includes an instantaneous thermal shutdown and an overvoltage power-off circuit. It is also equipped with an LED to indicate normal operation.
