The STEVAL-ISA182V1 is a family of evaluation boards designed by STMicroelectronics for AC/DC off-line SMPS (Switched-Mode Power Supply) applications.

This evaluation board combines the ST7FLIT23CWTR6, a low-cost, high-performance 8-bit microcontroller, with a high performance half-bridge PWM driver & a switching post regulator. A range of AC/DC SMPS topologies can be implemented with the board.

The evaluation boards have a complete system monitoring, including line cross-over detection, under-voltage protection, over-load protection, over-temperature protection, cycle-by-cycle current limitation, as well as a very useful continuous power control. The system also features a high output ripple attenuation filter that enables a high reliability and a silent operation.

This boards are able to operate with a wide input voltage range of up to 230VAC, have a low stand-by power consumption and are pre-programmed with a range of operating parameters that are compatible with most power supply requirements.

The STEVAL-ISA182V1 supports a wide variety of power topologies, including: PFC Boost converter, PFC Buck converter, Buck converter, Flyback converter, Forward converter, and Push-Pull converter. It also supports three different startup techniques (open loop, closed loop, and burst mode control). All of these features combine to make the STEVAL-ISA182V1 a powerful and versatile evaluation board for AC/DC off-line SMPS applications.

Apart from its fundamental features, the board also features an integrated SPI/I2C communication network that allows users to communicate with the board in very simple ways. This allows users to configure the board without the need of a PC.
