STMicroelectronics\'s STEVAL-ISV006V2 is a complete evaluation board for automotive air-fuel ratiometric linear sensor and provides accurate fuel mix for maximum engine performance. It is based on ST’s TLE4966-3 air-fuel ratiometric linear Hall sensor, which is part of an innovative automotive sensing system. With its unique features, the board can be used to demonstrate a variety of applications, including measurement of low, wide-range gas concentrations and fuel mix ratios.

The evaluation board is composed of a main board and a daughter board. It is powered by a power source connected to a power connector on the main board, or alternatively, through a USB port with a power supply option. The main board consists of a MCU, TLE4966-3, temperature measurement unit, and other components enabling the board to measure temperature, humidity, and pressure. The daughter board supports a gas sensor, which measure gases like CO2 and NOX.

The evaluation board\'s main function is to control the TLE4966-3 structure and perform ratiometric linear Hall effect sensing. Hall effect sensing is based on the movement of electrons within a ferromagnetic material. As an external influence is applied, like a magnetic field, the number of electrons within the material is displaced and drastically altered. This shifting is detected as an electrical signal, by a sensing element called the Hall Effect. As a linear Hall effect sensor, the TLE4966-3 provides a wide range of sensitivity for air-fuel ratiometric linear sensing.

The TLE4966-3 output can be connected to a standard CAN bus for faster communication with other system components.STEVAL-ISV006V2 includes an onboard microcontroller to enable data processing and control of the program. By configuring configuration switches and setting onboard registers, the user can adjust the TLE4966-3 configuration parameters such as the temperature sensor offset, offset, sensitivity, and threshold. Additionally, the board offers accurate measurements for temperature, humidity, and pressure, and can be connected to an external gas sensor for air-fuel ratiometric sensing.
