STEVAL-MKI062V1 is an evaluation board for the lowest power MEMS sensor system from ST, with power consumption less than 170 µA. It can be used for energy-efficient precision digital sensing in applications such as mobile telephones, cell phones, Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs), notebook and tablet PCs, and other personal medical and fitness applications. This evaluation board, designed in partnership with STMicroelectronics and the STMicroelectronics Sensor Hub, supports the SmartFit Algorithm that makes it possible to measure activity levels and health parameters with low power consumption.The STEVAL-MKI062V1 is a low-cost, low-power MEMS sensor system designed by STMicroelectronics. It combines a sensor interface, a 32-bit MCU, related analog components, and a USB interface to facilitate data transfer to external hosts, thus forming an integrated single-/multi-sensor system. Being compatible with the STMicroelectronics Sensor Hub (SSH) as well as various standard microcontrollers, the evaluated platform can be used in various low-power applications.The STEVAL-MKI062V1 is based on ST\'s patented technology that enables it to provide an extremely low power solution for precision sensing and power conservation in a single package. It features a low power microcontroller, as well as comprehensive analog and digital features, to provide a high level of integration for debouncing, measuring, and analyzing data. It supports peak detection for high precision sensor data, PID algorithm for data fusion, and SPI/I2C for the external sensor interface.The board utilizes a STM32L433 Arm Cortex-M4 microcontroller with 512 KB of Flash with ECC and 84 KB RAM for low power operation at low frequencies. In addition to the main controller, the STEVAL-MKI062V1 includes two evaluation blocks: a MEMS and associated analog circuitry block, and a USB and power block. The MEMS block includes four integrated digital accelerometer and two gyroscope sensors. The USB and power block contains a USB micro connector, a 3.3V regulator, a 3V battery connector, and a 5V regulated power supply that can be used to power the entire board.The evaluation board comes with ST\'s SSH technology, which enables the configuration and control of MEMS sensors with low-power operation and high precision sensing, in a single, integrated environment. The board also includes an IDD monitoring feature, which allows a host system to monitor the average power consumed by the board without any extra wires or external components. The IDD allows the host to keep the board at its lowest power state, while maintaining high measurement accuracy and low latency.STEVAL-MKI062V1 also provides an application-specific control interface that simplifies the integration of the board into the user\'s sensing system. The control interface enables the user to configure the board in a simple and intuitive way, and program the desired tasks, such as peak detection, sensor fusion, and data logging, with a standard USB connection.The STEVAL-MKI062V1 is a versatile evaluation board for low-power precision digital sensing, and is the ideal tool for designing energy-efficient applications for consumer electronics, medical, and fitness applications. The board combines ST\'s patented technologies with SSH technology to make it possible to measure activity levels and health parameters with low power consumption.
