The STEVAL-MKI086V1 from STMicrosystems is a versatile inertial measurement unit (IMU) evaluation board series offering an easy evaluation of the latest generation of ST’s MEMS sensors for motion, environmental parameters and touch sensing. This evaluation board is a fully featured platform for evaluation, development and prototyping of sophisticated high-end motion sensing applications. The STEVAL-MKI086V1 can be used in a variety of motion sensing applications, from accelerometers to gyroscopes, to measure motion and environmental factors. With the added display options, this board can be used to develop interactive applications such as gesture recognition, gaming applications, and human-machine interface solutions. In addition, the board can be used to measure pressure, temperature and humidity for monitoring environmental changes. Finally, the board also supports touch sensing, allowing developers to create touch-enabled devices.
Most importantly, the STEVAL-MKI086V1 utilizes ST’s MEMS IC technology, allowing it to provide high accuracy and low power consumption. The MEMS technology enables the board to be used with standard 3V or 5V power sources, eliminating the need for special power supplies.
