The STEVAL-MKI138V3 is an evaluation and demonstration board and kit that is suitable for evaluating applications and measuring various functions for a range of electrical and electronic components. This evaluation and demonstration board and kit has cutting-edge features and is designed for highly accurate measurements of electrical or electronic characteristics, such as voltage, current, dielectric strength, insulation resistance and rise time.The STEVAL-MKI138V3 supports various types of power module components, such as high-side and low-side drivers, low on-state resistance FETS, automotive high-side/low-side switches, as well as various types of high-input voltage, variable-rise circuits and high side/low side optocouplers. It also supports socket-based designs and current sensing circuits, with multiple potential switching types. The STEVAL-MKI138V3 consists of a series of multiple components and integrated circuits, including a power unit, interface unit, device adapter, oscilloscope, logic analyzer, peripheral emulator, temperature sensor, voltage detector and current-control circuit. The power distribution board is designed to support multiple current ranges, such as 0.1, 0.3, 1, 5 and 10A.The STEVAL-MKI138V3 is capable of measuring voltage, current, and other electrical parameters accurately and the device adapter can be used to measure the on-state characteristics of automotive switches and currents under different operating conditions. Temperature monitoring is also supported, using a dedicated temperature sensor. In addition, the STEVAL-MKI138V3 supports the implementation of stimulation circuits, which enable users to easily switch between predefined profiles, such as balance, rise time and hold-off. The integrated oscilloscope and logic analyzer can be used to analyze the respective signals, measuring the waveforms generated. The STEVAL-MKI138V3 employs a specialized current-control circuit as well, which allows each of the power units to be switched independently and precisely measure the values. This current-control circuit also helps in implementing different voltage and current ranges.In terms of power, the STEVAL-MKI138V3 requires a power supply of 5VDC or 24VDC, depending upon the power modules installed. The peripheral emulator supports 4-channel measurement on each channel but the different device adapters support different functions, such as single or dual outputs, thermostat or high-side/low-side switching and current and voltage measurement. The STEVAL-MKI138V3 evaluation and demonstration board and kit is an ideal platform for performing numerous electrical and electronic measurements. The range of supported functions and measurements enables users to easily evaluate the functional behavior of various electrical and electronic components, ensuring highly accurate and reliable results.
