The STEVAL-MKI165V1 evaluation board is a verification and development platform to evaluate NXP\'s MKI165V1 inertial measurement unit. This board features the MMA9553L low-power 6-axis motion sensing system-in-package, which is used to detect and track motion so that users can track orientation and use acceleration or angular velocity for movement recognition. This evaluation board is designed for cost-sensitive wearables and tracking systems requiring space performance and low power consumption as well as tilt sensing for industrial control.
The STEVAL-MKI165V1 evaluation board has two main components: the NXP MKI165V1 inertial measurement unit and the MMA9553L motion sensing system. The MKI165V1 is a three-axis digital gyroscope and three-axis digital accelerometer developed by NXP. It features 16-bit digital output for a wide dynamic range and 6kdps/44kdps maximum output ranges.
The MMA9553L system is an ultra-low power 6-axis motion sensing system that combines a 3-axis digital accelerometer, a 3-axis digital gyroscope and an additional temperature sensor. It features high precision, low shock sensitivity, low power consumption and a wide range of applicable sensing axes. Both components are integrated into a single chip package and feature high performance and suitable adjustment capabilities in demanding applications. The system can sample the movement of an object in 6 dimensions—without the need for any external components.
The STEVAL-MKI165V1 evaluation board is designed to be used as a development platform to evaluate the features of the MKI165V1 inertial measurement unit. It can be used to test its precision, accuracy, sensitivity and reliability for applications involving reference measurement of true linear, angular and tilt motion.
