STEVAL-PCN001V1 evaluation and demonstration board is designed to allow evaluation of the STP70NF06L MOSFET using the EasyPFET2K tool. It is developed to measure, monitor, and analyze the characteristics of the power MOSFET used in various automotive applications. The board offers high efficiency, fast switching s and performs over a wide range of operating voltages.
The board architecture consists of a Controller Board with two terminals, namely a PFET device test port, and an optional ELFET port. A socket is provided on the board to connect the temperature sensors. There are two types of small solderable bread boards, namely the MOSFET evaluation board and the EasyPFET2K board. The MOSFET evaluation board allows evaluation of the characteristics of the power MOSFET. The EasyPFET2K board offers flexibility and allows customization as per the user requirement.
The application of the board includes the measurement of the power dissipation, the development of the drive circuits and waveforms, the investigation of MOSFET switching characteristics, the evaluation of the thermal behaviour and other such tasks.
The working principle of the board is based on the application of the EasyPFET2K PMOS controller. The controller is programmed to provide the parameters needed to operate the power MOSFET. It can switch current through the power MOSFET depending on the threshold voltage, gate-source voltage, and other codes. The EasyPFET2K controller consists of a high-precision, high-current switching circuit that includes PWM control logic for fast switching and current limiting. The controller interfaces with the power MOSFET via an I/O port which can be programmed to switch, attenuate, and control the device via an SPI or I2C bus.
