STPLED524 is a single-channel type low-side Power Switch with an N-Channel MOSFET. It offers wide operating voltage, current capability and excellent thermal performance as well as low resistance values. This power switch is suitable for use in applications such as DC motor control, analog power supplies, or any other load or system requiring remote or local control.

Working Principle

The STPLED524 is based on a MOSFET as the power switch, which prevents a certain amount of current (depending on gate voltage) from passing through its drain-source when driven by a specific voltage level. The STPLED524 is driven by applying voltage to the Gate of the MOSFET, thereby the barrier is lowered and current can flow from the Source to the Drain. From this working principle, it can understood that the higher the voltage applied to the Gate, the lower the voltage applied at the Source and Drain, efficiently switching the power in the circuit.
