The Working Principle of an Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitor


An aluminum electrolytic capacitor typically consists of two aluminum foil plates separated by a very thin layer of dielectric material. One foil plate is coated with an electrolytic material, while the other is left uncoated. This creates a polarized capacitor, which means one of the plates is positively charged and the other is negatively charged. When a voltage is applied across the two plates, an electrical current will flow. This current is what creates the capacitance between the two plates, which can be used to store energy.
