This device is designed to provide a cost effective solution for an automotive qualified low power CAN physical layer. Working Principle of TJA1040T/H/V,118
The integrated TJA1040T/H/V CAN transceiver is built around high-speed CMOS process technology and is designed for lower power and lower EMI with integrated 100kΩ flat Passive Filtering Network. The device contains a transmitter and a receiver. It provides differential transmit capability and differential receive capability to the CAN bus.
The transmitter has an input pair of data lines that are used to transmit data to the bus, while the receiver receives signals from the bus and delivers them to the system processor. The transceiver is a 3-state device, meaning that it can be enabled or disabled by the system processor. When disabled, the output of the transmitter is a high impedance state, while the output of the receiver is a low voltage state.
The TJA1040T/H/V has a sleep mode that is triggered by a signal on the WAKE_H and WAKE_L pins. When in this mode, the transceiver consumes significantly lower power. The TJA1040T/H/V also features a programmable bus inversion logic that allows for CAN signal inversion to prevent undesirable reflections.
