The TNY375PN is a secondary side controller for AC-DC mainstream off-line flyback converters. It offers a low start-up current, adjustable duty cycle operation with low THD, and 100% maximum duty cycle for power savings in standby operation. It is suited for applications where full system output is 100W and lower. The TNY375PN is available in both a PDIP8 and SOP8 Package.
The TNY375PN provides the low heartbeat current required for ultra-low standby power applications. The IC has a low package cost and, with its 0.9V start-up voltage and 2.7V operating voltage, it boosts up the efficiency to meet ENERGY STAR and GREEN requirements.
The TNY375PN contains advanced adaptive gate drive techniques, allowing minimal turn-on losses and providing higher operating frequencies when desired. Its high operating frequency maximizes power delivery by eliminating core losses and results in lower transformer size with reduced input and output ripple. The advanced adaptive gate drive techniques further eliminate the need for external snubber and reduce EMI emissions.
The switching and protection blocks of the TNY375PN protect the converter from heavy duty-cycle and over temperature. The settings for the protection thresholds are internally set, but may be adjusted via external resistors. Diagnostic LEDs allow easy diagnosis of different warning and fault conditions.
