TPS2828DBVT is a highly integrated Next Generation Polarity Reversing Gate Driver Peripheral Module (PMIC) designed to accurately drive two N and P channel MOSFETs, ideal for half-bridge DC-DC conversion circuits. It is developed to meet challenges in any system requiring the highest levels of reliability in Gate Driving. TPS2828DBVT eliminates the need for isolated gate drive with isolated power supplies, as the integrated driver is completely isolated from the main power supply and outputs level-shifting and an isolated gate driver.

TPS2828DBVT includes a 800mA high speed low voltage bidirectional MOSFET driver with adjustable protection from overvoltage, overcurrent, undervoltage, and over temperature. It is specifically designed for direct drive high power MOSFETs in buck, boost, or buck-boost topologies. The comprehensive high current driver plus fault management provides the most complete solution for buck, boost or buck-boost applications.

The TPS2828DBVT has two independent power stage outputs: high side and low side. Each output is capable of controlling two P-channel and two N-channel power MOSFETs. The TPS2828DBVT provides both high side and low side drive voltages and current ratings at peak values of 20V and 4A.

The TPS2828DBVT features an integrated fault management system which monitors overvoltage (OV), undervoltage (UV) and over temperature (OT) conditions and adjusts the gate drive voltages accordingly. When an OV, UV or OT condition is detected, then the gate driver will shut down and the MOSFETs will be disabled. The TPS2828DBVT also includes cycle-by-cycle current limitation.
