Working Principle

It is based on an adaptive on-time control approach, in combination with a constant off-time regulation scheme.The on-time control is controlled by a main control loop, which is continuously tracking the input voltage and output current. This main control loop is using the Voltage Error Amplifier (VEA) and Current Sense Amplifier (CSA) to regulate the output by adjusting the duty cycle.The current sense amplifier (CSA) senses the output current and amplifies the signal to a level suitable for the control loop. The feedback control loop will adjust the duty cycle to the optimal operating point by changing the current-sense trip points.The off-time control loop is responsible for setting the minimum off-time to ensure that the switching FETs are not operated in its linear mode.
