Working Principle

The TPS65145RGER is a LVR device with level translators and switching voltage regulators, which allows design flexibility with an existing PMIC device. The level translators are ideal for interfacing between batteries and FETs, for example for battery powered devices. When power is connected, the device will detect the input supply voltage and automatically adjust the load current by switching the FETs before the Battery Voltage and Rger Voltage reaches the set voltage.

The switching voltage regulators are designed to switch the battery voltage and regulated output voltage at the same frequency. When the battery is connected, the internal MOSFETs switch on and allow the current to flow, while the voltage regulator monitors the output voltage. When the voltage reaches the set voltage, the FETs are cut off and the output voltage is maintained, allowing the battery to recharge.
