The Texas Instruments TSL2581CS is an evaluation and development module used to test out and develop infrared based light-to-digital converters. Infrared sensors respond to different wavelengths oflight emitted by LEDs and other electronic components, thereby enabling them to calculate the presence of objects, together with its proximity and strength. The TSL2581CS application module enables designers and engineers to develop a light-to-digital converter based on the TSL2581 device.

The TSL2581CS consists of an OVT TSL2581CSET infrared light-to-digital converter along with an on board PGA1153 millivoltmeter. It features eleven (11) measurement ranges up to ±100mV which allows users to replicate a variety of lighting conditions. The module also features an integrated temperature sensor which helps ensure precision and repeatability of measurements. Additionally, the module is designed to be interfaced via standard I2C and USB ports.

The TSL2581CS application module is designed to enable quick and easy design of light-to-digital converters.
