The TSL2561CL is an ambient light, infrared, and ultraviolet sensor designed to detect light intensity and color temperature. It is commonly used in industrial and medical applications and is widely used in human-machine interface systems, lighting control systems, computers, and other related products.The TSL2561CL is a low-noise, low-power, digital ambient light and infrared optical sensor capable of measuring both visible and infrared light from 0 lux (total darkness) up to 10,000 lux (bright sunlight). It operates over a wide temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. The sensors provide 12-bit resolution for light detection from 390nm (UV) to 999nm (IR).The TSL2561CL features two on-chip 16-bit analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) for light capture. An embedded microcontroller processes the data and couples the digital output in I²C format. The I²C data is designed to communicate to a host microcontroller via an I²C interface.The TSL2561CL is dually sensitive to light, meaning it can detect both visible and infrared wavelengths of light. The device has a spectral response range from 395-1050 nm, with peak sensitivity in the visible light band at 510-530 nm. The device’s wide spectral response allows it to work in a variety of natural light conditions.The TSL2561CL operates by receiving light of the appropriate wavelength and converting it to an electrical signal.
