Evaluation boards are typically used to validate new designs and provide developers with the versatility and performance they need before integrating the device or technology within their actual application. The TSL2672EVM consists of an evaluation board and the environment-light sensor TSL2672R, primarily used for near ambient light measurements.
The TSL2672R has a spectral sensitivity band of 400nm- 600nm, with peak response at ~530 nm, as well as a linear response for total condensing power up to 8000 lux and a 13 bit effective resolution. It also has a wide range of programmable interrupt levels, allowing system microcontroller to act only when light level changes occur, therefore optimizing power use in electrically-sensitive applications. - An ADC is then used to convert the digital output from the comparator to a digital format. This allows for easy storage and further comparison.
