The TVS310 is a Transient Voltage Suppressor (TVS) diode designed to protect electronic components against the effects of high voltage electrical pulses. It is a three-terminal device housed in a proprietary surface-mount package which offers superior performance and enhanced reliability. The TVS310 is able to provide a very high level of surge protection, up to 40 amps for peak pulses of one microsecond and up to 1.2kV dynamic peak working voltage.There are various applications of the TVS310, ranging from general-purpose circuit protection to specific requirements such as automotive, computers, telecommunications equipment and data lines. In general, any application where there may be an exposure to spikes or other transients on the power lines can benefit from the use of this component.The working principle of the TVS310 is based on the workings of a zener diode.
