Diodes - Zener - Single is a device specifically designed to generate a relatively competitive electric field in order to protect secured and protected electronic circuits. The TZMB16-GS18 are one of these devices, an application field and working principle of which will be discussed in this article.
The TZMB16-GS18 are special type diodes capable of supporting rail-to-rail voltage protection scenarios. This is because they feature an adjustable electric field, between 0.8V to 16V. The device is particularly suitable for systems operating under negative supply.
When it comes to the application field, the device is particularly suited as a protective one in fields such as motor control, AC-DC power conversion, automotive, optical isolation and communication systems, as well as measurement of systems with signal paths outside the PSE.
The basic working principle of the device revolves around a series of devices known as Zener Diodes. Such diodes are capable of producing an electric field through a process of strong thermal energy exchange. Essentially, when the current passes through the junction of the two devices, referred to as the Zener and the FET, an electric field is produced. This electric field is what enables the TZMB16-GS18 to provide the rail-to-rail voltage protection it\'s very capable of.
Interfacing Zener diodes with FET transmitters is therefore the key consideration behind the device. This is facilitated through the presence of a series of small diodes, known as miniature switching diodes, and also by the combination of the two materials used to make up the device, that being aluminium and zinc. These two materials enable interchange of charge carriers and therefore the appearance of the electric field.
The real advantage of the TZMB16-GS18 is that it facilitates a combination of both static and dynamic protection, providing a notable protection of the system in the event of a power fluctuation. This protection is offered in a very simple way, as a circuit simply moves from a positive to a negative voltage range - without any further user input.
