The construction of electrolytic capacitors consists of a pair of part layers, namely, an anode and a cathode. The anode is typically made up of aluminum foil that protrudes with porous oxide layer and the cathode is constructed using woven foil. The electrolyte is generally a solution of boric acid and water. As a result, the capacitor stores energy in the form of electrostatic field. When the capacitor is connected across a voltage source, the electrostatic field increases and produces a current flow. This current creates an internal pressure which is proportional to the applied voltage. The pressure causes a redistribution of the charges and an additional current is created which is equal in magnitude.When the capacitor is connected in series, the total capacitance and the total capacitance drops due to the increased series resistance.
