The UC3526N is a versatile DC/DC converter control circuit designed for off-line and DC/DC regulators, switching or linear topologies over a wide range of power supply applications. It offers a wide range of features designed to maximise the power delivery and to reduce the cost and complexity of certain power supply circuit designs.The UC3526N is specifically designed to regulate a wide range of DC/DC voltage levels, from 3.3V to 36V, making it ideal for applications requiring the conversion of DC inputs to higher or lower voltage outputs. The power conversion process is suitable for use in isolated and non-isolated DC/DC voltage converters, as well as switching or linear power supplies.The UC3526N integrates a wide range of features such as a programmable oscillator, a base band dead time, synchronisation, a line compensation circuit and pulse-by-pulse over current protection. The device incorporates error amplifiers that detect the presence of a feedback voltage, allowing the user to adjust the output voltage as desired. Additionally, precision control circuits including a comparator provide accurate reference correction and easy setting of various parameters. This allows for precise control of the power output in spite of changes in the load or input voltage.The device also includes an internal over temperature protection circuit and an active power-down feature. The over temperature protection prevents excessive heat dissipation and extends the life of the device. The power-down feature helps protect against voltage surge or a system power down.In addition, the UC3526N incorporates a frequency control scheme, which allows the output frequency to be programmed either directly or by setting the component values of an external compensation network. This feature can be used to optimise the regulator\'s performance in a given application, while providing a simple and reliable way to adjust the switch duty cycle in order to reduce ripple and produce a more stable output.The UC3526N is a reliable and robust design that provides excellent performance and features which are applicable to a wide range of DC/DC voltage converter applications.
