Working Principle

At this point, the UC3827N-2 switching controller operates as a linear voltage regulator, maintaining the output voltage at a constant level. When the switch is opened, the induced voltage in the primary winding can clap back, destroying the MOSFET and disconnecting the power supply. To ensure that this does not happen, the UC3827N-2 includes two protection circuits: the overvoltage protection circuit and the self-restart circuit. The overvoltage protection circuit shuts off the power supply to prevent damage to the connected load, and the self-restart circuit restarts the power supply after the overload has cleared.
