UC3854ADW is a line of high-performance power factor correction (PFC) controllers from the portfolio of Texas Instruments. It is a low-cost, easy-to-use PFC solution, ideal for mid-power PFC designs. The device provides a complete PFC function in the majority of global power applications, from 50 W to 1 kW.
The UC3854ADW device is a high-speed, low-power CMOS current-mode PFC controller with built-in PWM control. It is designed for use in single-stage discontinuous-conduction mode (DCM) PFC systems up to 1 kW. The UC3854ADW device features a differential voltage sense input, voltage and current feedback control, cycle-by-cycle current limit, and an on-board synchronous rectifier driver. Internal defect and under-voltage lockout provide protection while soft start, PLL synchronization, and brown-in/brown-out detection offer greater system usability.
The UC3854ADW controller has two operating modes: constant-frequency/constant-voltage (CF/CV) and quasi-resonant (QR).
