Aluminum electrolytic capacitors, also known as electrolytic capacitors or \'electrolytic caps\', belong to the class of polarized capacitors. As compared to other types of capacitors, electrolytic capacitors have the capacity to store larger amounts of energy – up to hundreds of joules per capacitor. As such, they are widely used in electrical and electronic applications which require high capacitance values in a relatively small package.

UPM2A220MPD aluminum electrolytic capacitors are one type of capacitors with a wide range of applications. They are polarized, meaning they must be connected correctly in order to function correctly and safely.
