It is commonly used in audio circuitry and video circuitry, such as in video switchers, matrix switchers, balanced modulators, FM generators, audio/video processors, video guards, high-voltage amplifiers, and similar applications.The 2N5796U transistor array is a high voltage, high speed, symmetrical NPN transistor array that has the capacity to deliver large amounts of gain. It operates on high current levels, and can produce strong signals for both AC and DC output. It can drive a wide variety of integrated circuits.The 2N5796U transistor array operates in its normal linear range in environments ranging from -50 to 150°C, and can also be used as a high current linear amplifier. Any transient on the input signal is handled by the 2N5796U’s amplifier without any need of external support. Its high speed allows high signal fidelity.The working principle of a transistor array like the 2N5796U is fairly straightforward. The transistor array consists of two transistors connected in a Push-Pull design, with one being an NPN transistor and the other being a PNP transistor. The two transistors are connected in parallel with the collector and emitter terminals of each transistor connected to the collector and emitter terminals of the other transistor. When an electrical signal is applied to the array, the two transistors become conductive and the voltage across them switch polarity. This allows the transistor array to convert the input signal into an amplified output signal. The 2N5796U provides excellent stability and increased gain even over a wide temperature range. It also has a low Electrical-Noise-Figure rating (ENF), which is important for producing high-fidelity audio.
