Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors commonly are constructed of a solid aluminum anode with a spongy or etched aluminum oxide layer as the dielectric. The surface area of the anode is increased chemically or mechanically thereby increasing capacitance per unit volume. The anode and dielectric are then rolled into a cylinder with a wetted paper dielectric layer between. A liquid electrolyte is added and the whole cylinder is then sealed in an aluminum or other metal can or plastic case and a second can or plastic case is added to hold in the electrolyte. The aluminum electrolytic capacitors are among the most common types of capacitors used in electronics today and can be found in virtually any consumer electronic device.The 400TXW22MEFR18X45 is an aluminum electrolytic capacitor specifically designed for high-temperature applications. This series of capacitors is constructed with a black aluminum or electroplated black anode and an extremely durable anode oxide layer. The anode is then tightly rolled with its dielectric in an epoxy resin sleeve to create a single unit capable of withstanding a wide range of environmental and operational stresses.
