Thyristors - TRIACs play an important role in the control of electric power and in the utilization of electric energy. BTA06-400TRG, a type of thyristors, is widely used in industry today. In this article, we will discuss its applications and its working principle.
BTA06-400TRG is a two-terminal semiconductor device, which is commonly used for alternating current (AC) power control. It has two layers of alternating P-type and N-type silicon, and each layer is separated by a vice rectifying layer. There are two characteristics of the operating mode of BTA06-400TRG. Firstly, the amplitude of the current is controlled by the number of holes-electron pairs. Secondly, when the current passes through the device, it switches to a state that is not easy to be changed until a negative current is generated on the gate terminal or the temperature of the device is higher than the operating temperature of the device.
