The ADG406BP-REEL is a quad CMOS analog switch that provides high speed performance, fast switching time and low on-resistance. The ADG406BP-REEL is suitable for a wide range of applications and can be used in audio switching, video switching, multiplexer/demultiplexer choices and instrumentation selectors. It is also suitable for use in analog and digital multiplexers and demultiplexers.

The ADG406BP-REEL is part of the Analog Devices family of analog switches, multiplexers, and demultiplexers and is designed to provide high performance, low power operation and real world specifications. The integrated switch and driver offer a high level of performance, with a maximum supply voltage of ±10 V for the analog switch and 5 V for the digital selector pins. The device also features low turn-on time (tCON) and an extremely fast settle time (tSETUP) of 2.5 picoseconds.

The ADG406BP-REEL features an on-resistance (RON) range of 12–18 ohm, a maximum analog switch current of 10mA and a low capacitance of 5pF (typical) for video, audio and RF applications. The device also incorporates a latch and two control pins for independent control of each switch, allowing for individual level shifting between differential gain stages. This device is RoHS-compliant, removable and can be used in any application.

The ADG406BP-REEL is composed of four switches, each of which can switch from one signal level to the other. In a multiplexer/demultiplexer application, the device can be used to switch between two single-ended signals, whereas in audio and video switching applications, the device can be used to switch between two or more single-ended signals. The integrated switch and driver circuit is designed to provide a low rise time and a low fall time, allowing for fast switching between signal levels with minimal distortion.

In the non-latching mode, the device switches the signal between two signal levels when the digital control pin is driven to a high or a low level, respectively. In latching mode, the device switches between two signal levels when the signal is driven to a latch signal level with the two control pins. Additionally, the device offers three control signal levels, which allow for more complex switching applications.

The ADG406BP-REEL is protected by a thermal shutoff, ESD protection and a power down mode. The thermal shutoff ensures that the device will not overheat during operation and the power down mode ensures that the device does not consume power when not in use.
