ADG511BRZ is a quad single-pole/double-throw (SPDT) analog switch device suitable for use in many applications in communications, test and measure, and data acquisition systems. With an oxide-isolated integrated-circuit (IC) process, this device contains four independent, single-pole/double-throw switches. The switch is capable of switching supplies up to ±15 V.The ADG511BRZ offers excellent on-resistance matching over the specified temperature range and low on-resistance flatness. Additionally, the temperature coefficient of on-resistance is also very low for most applications. The on-off ratio of this device is the ratio of the signal provided at the common of the switch when it is turned on minus when it is turned off. The typical on-off ratio is 40 dB and the maximum leakage is very small.This device is an analog multiplexer/demultiplexer. It has four channels, which are switched by an enable signal. When the enable signal is low, all of the switches are closed and when it is high, the individual switches can be opened or closed as desired. The ADG511BRZ has a typical data sheet on-off ratio of 40 dB and low leakage of -70 dB. It is ideal for use in data acquisition systems and for multiplexing signals into a single channel.The working principle of the ADG511BRZ is based on a two-stage architecture. It has two switches in each stage which are controlled by two control signals. The control signals are connected to a logic device which generates the enable signal. The logic device then uses the enable signal to control the two switches in each stage thus creating either a single-pole/single-throw (SPST) switch or a single-pole/double-throw (SPDT) switch. The SPST switch is used to connect two signals while the SPDT switch is used to disconnect a signal from one device and connect it to another.The ADG511BRZ is suitable for a wide variety of applications. It can be used to switch high speed signals, analog signals and digital signals. It is also used in data acquisition systems and is well suited for switched capacitor filters and other sensitive applications.
