ADP2108-2.3-EVALZ is an evaluation board designed to evaluate the performance of one or more Power Integrations’ AC/DC converter ICs. This board is designed for a wide variety of applications such as LED driver and power supply design and development. Adpies can provide numerous advantages to designers, such as enabling them to quickly check device performance in the system before fully committing to source component and board layout.
Application Field
The ADP2108-2.3-EVALZ is designed for applications such as low-power LED drivers and SMPS (switched-mode power supplies). It can be used to evaluate the performance of one or more power integration AC/DC converter ICs in a wide range of designs, such as lighting (general illumination, automotive, outdoor & displays), industrial, computing, consumer, and automotive. The board incorporates the company\'s TINYSwitch ICs, PI Expert™ Design Suite software, and a variety of test points, allowing designers to quickly evaluate the performance of their designs in the system before making a full commitment to board layout and component solutions. Other power applications include Li-Ion battery charger, UPS (uninterruptible power supplies), AC adapters, point-of-load regulation, and other DC/DC and AC/DC solutions.
Working Principle
The ADP2108-2.3-EVALZ provides a complete design and test platform for evaluating the performance of one or more Power Integrations’ AC/DC converter ICs, enabling designers to quickly prototype designs before committing to board layout and component selection. The board integrates the company\'s TINYSwitch ICs, a variety of test points, and PI Expert™ Design Suite software, allowing designers to quickly evaluate the performance of their designs in the system. The evaluation board utilizes the high integration capability of the PI TINYSwitch ICs to significantly reduce component count, board space, and cost as compared to traditional designs. The combination of the high-integrated ICs, efficient layout, and PC-based software provides a fast and cost-effectivedevelopment cycle.
The ADP2108-2.3-EVALZ is powered by a 12V DC source, and incorporates a wide range of a features to evaluate performance. The board includes an on-board USB port for configuring the IC parameters as well as for data logging capabilities. The evaluation board also includes pins for enabling protection features, and allows the user to host the application firmware on an external EEPROM and load it via the on-board programming socket for enabling unique features.
The evaluation board also includes an input voltage range of 85-265VAC, which is adjustable with an internal potentiometer or external resistor. It also includes an output voltage range of 9-24V, which is adjustable with an internal jumper and an external resistor. Unique features such as OVP, OTP, current limit, and open loop time delay can also be programmed through the board\'s software. The board offers a solution to test a wide range of Power Integrations’ AC/DC converter ICs, providing a fast and cost-effective design cycle.
