The ADP2166ACPZ-1.5-R7 synchronous boost DC to DC converter operates according to the principles of pulse-width modulation. This converter features a MOSFET switching element at the input side to regulate the input voltage. The current is then regulated through a differential current limit control path. This device is capable of achieving high efficiency levels, due to the fact that the switching frequency can be set via an external resistor connected to the FB pin. The differential current limit feature allows the regulation of current at both the low-side and high-side MOSFETs, offering a better control of current loop.
The ADP2166ACPZ-1.5-R7 also features a soft-start function. This reduces any inrush current significantly at the time of power-up condition. And the device also features protection features namely, thermal shutdown, undervoltage lockout and overvoltage lockout which boosts the safety of the system.
