Bipolar junction transistors (BJTs) are a type of electronic device that are used in many applications requiring amplification, switching, voltage control, signal mixing and other functions. The BC558ABU is a PNP type BJT with three pins: the base (B), the collector (C), and the emitter (E). This particular device is a low-noise, low-power model, so it is ideal for use in signal amplification and conditioning applications.

The device works according to the basic principles of operation of the bipolar transistor.
