BC858A-7-F is a single epitaxial based NPN low noise transistors designed for low noise amplifier in audio and general purpose applications. Offering good gain, low noise figure and low capacitance with excellent stability, this transistor is ideal for hi-fi audio, hearing aids, medical equipment and video applications. The working principle of BC858A-7-F is that a small amount of current applied to the base terminal is amplified by the transistor’s internal structure and appears at the collector terminal as a larger current. Base-emitter and base-collector junctions are formed by P-type and N-type semiconductor materials respectively.The current flow to the collector is allowed by the base current flow and cut off by reverse bias at the base-emitter junction. This junction works as a diode and the base-collector junction works as a controllable rectifier, allowing current flow in the collector lead when there is a forward bias at base-emitter junction. The resulting current amplification depends upon the transistor\'s internal electrical characteristics and external circuit parameters.The main application field of BC858A-7-F transistor is low noise amplification in applications like hearing aids, medical equipment, hi-fi audio systems, and video applications. It is also commonly used in differential amplifiers, buffer circuits, and base drive circuits.BC858A-7-F transistors come in a variety of configurations to offer flexibility and compatibility with different applications. The standard configuration of BC858A-7-F transistors is the TO-92 package, which is a three pin connection with a common emitter and two external connections: base and collector. For more specific requirements, there are other packages including TO-220 and SOT-523.The BC858A-7-F transistor can be operated within a wide temperature range of -55°C to +150°C (or -67°F to +302°F), and can handle current up to 100mA and power dissipation up to 400mW.
