<p>The BD6718FV-E2 is a Pre-Driver IC designed for BLDC (brushless DC) motor control with Hall sensors. It has a built-in low voltage step up voltage control circuit and a high isolation power control circuit. Its sophisticated control circuits enable to realize variably, adjustably efficient motor driving through easy setting of motor driving parameter/waveforms. It is an ideal choice for applications that require Reliable and safe operation, high speed control, high efficiency, low power consumption and low EMI.</p><p><strong>Working Principle</strong></p><p>The BD6718FV-E2 is a Pre-Driver IC that uses a unique method of controlling BLDC motors. It combines an integrated 3-phase motor driver and BLDC motor control algorithm that allows for efficient, low-EMI and low-cost BLDC motor control. The BD6718FV-E2 has an integrated 3-phase motor driver that uses a single output HALL signal from the motor and controls current and speed based on the sensorless-HALL method.</p><p>The motor driver controls the motor current by using multiple phase outputs in order to generate high torque and low-EMI. At high speeds, the phase output is combined with comfortable phase currents to reduce the noise and minimize vibration. At low speeds, current control is based on Hall sensors with a fixed frequency PWM signal. In addition, the BD6718FV-E2 employs an on-chip, adjustable low voltage step-up voltage fed back to the motor, which allows the power supply to remain low and reduce the noise.</p><p>The signals feedback to the BD6718FV-E2 control circuit is used to protect the motor from being damaged. The MCU controls the BD6718FV-E2 based on the Hall sensors’ output. With remarkably high voltage and current protection and easy-to-use environment, this IC also reduces motor workload, making it suited for use with high voltages and high currents.</p>
