However, when the forward voltage applied to the diode exceeds the value, the electric field will be induced, providing electrons with enough energy to move through the contact surface between the P and N type, enabling the current to flow.
Therefore, BYG20D R3G usually works in two states. In the forward bias, when the applied voltage exceeded 0.7V, the diode will conduct. In the reverse bias, the current cannot pass through the diode even when the voltage is greater than 0.7V. This feature makes it suitable for being applied as a rectifier.
