In particular, BZD27C16P-E3-08 can be used as voltage clamping device and regulation device to protect against spikes of high voltage which may damage other components connected to the circuit.Working Principle
The working principle of BZD27C16P-E3-08 is based on the PN junction. It consists of two P-type semiconductor materials that have been joined together, creating a depletion region. When a voltage is applied to the PN junction, electrons from the N-type semiconductor are attracted to the P-type semiconductor and create a current through the device. The Zener voltage is determined by a depletion layer and threshold voltage. When the applied voltage exceeds the Zener voltage, the electrons come out of the junction and flow through the device. This flow is often referred to as breakdown current. The resulting voltage drop across the diode is the Zener voltage. The current that flows during breakdown is relatively small compared to the normal forward current, so its characteristics are usually ignored when using BZD27C16P-E3-08 as a voltage clamp. In addition, BZD27C16P-E3-08 also has reverse current flow characteristics. During normal operation, the reverse current flow is small, but when the applied voltage exceeds the Zener voltage, the device will pass a large current.Conclusion
