CMLD6001 is a surface-mount diode array that combines two Schottky diodes in one package, with four independent pins, in order to provide a low-voltage rectification. The device is rated at 600V, with a double-diode forward current of 45mA, a reverse current of 5nA, and a maximum peak pulse current of 300mA. It is a general-purpose rectification device suitable for most AC/DC initiatives.
Application Fields
CMLD6001 can be used for battery-charges, displays, audio equipment, and most other consumer electronic products which require direct AC/DC conversion. Its low on-state voltage drop, reverse leakage current, and forward recovery time make it suitable for low voltage/high current applications. Moreover, CMLD6001 is an ideal device for use in switching power supplies and industrial power control circuits, where high-peak-current requirements and high-voltage applications are a necessity. In addition, this diode array can also be used in standard rectification applications, such as motor control and automotive applications.
Working Principle
CMLD6001 works on the principle of rectification. It rectifies AC input voltage into DC voltage of the desired value. The two Schottky rectifier diodes connected in serie, in parallel arrangement with each other, are connected in series with the AC load circuit. This provides two one-directional current paths, with one in the forward direction ( from anode to cathode ) to convert the AC voltage into DC voltage and the other in reverse direction ( from cathode to anode ) to block the current flow and protect against excessive reverse current. The forward voltage drop of the diode is small, so that the voltage across the load is independent of the current through it. Moreover, the reverse leakage current is very low, reducing the heat produced and thus making the device efficient.
Conclusion
CMLD6001 is a low-voltage/high-current rectification diode array which combines two diode devices in one package, providing an ideal means of converting AC voltage into DC voltage efficiently. It can be used in a variety of rectification applications, and is suitable for use in both battery-charges and industrial power control circuits. The device is rated at 600V, with a forward current of 45mA and a peak pulse current of 300mA. Its low forward voltage drop and reverse leakage current make it an ideal device for direct AC/DC conversion.
