The CPC30AFH pressure transducer is a hybrid construction Pressure Sensors, in which a media proof diaphragm with its associated components, is surrounded and protected from the atmosphere by a stainless steel package. It comes in various sizes and pressure ranges and can be used for harsh environment applications. It is mainly used in a variety of industrial and commercial applications, such as industrial automation, machine monitoring, process control, fluid power systems, refrigeration, hydraulics and pneumatics, and laboratory research.
CPC30AFH can measure pressure as low as 0.5 bar and up to 2500 bar. The transducer has an accuracy of up to +/− 0.25%, a frequency response of 0 - 15 Hz, temperature range of -40º to +85º Celsius, and a 4 – 20 mA current loop output. It also has an integral display option and can be connected to a variety of control systems and pressure switches.
CPC30AFH works on the principle of capacitance. The pressure transducer is connected to a pressure-sensing diaphragm in a vacuum chamber. The diaphragm is sealed and the chamber is filled with a gas or a liquid. The pressure from the gas or liquid is transferred to the diaphragm, causing it to move. The movement of the diaphragm changes the capacitance of the sensing element which is proportional to the pressure applied on the diaphragm. The capacitance changes are then converted to an electrical signal which can be processed by the microprocessor.
The pressure transducer is integrated with an ASIC which does the signal processing and conversion to a useful value. The signals are then passed to an amplifier and analog-to-digital (AD) converter for further processing and then to the controller. The controller can be programmed to map the pressure values to setpoints and provide output signals or alarms accordingly. The controller may also include additional safety features such as overpressure protection.
