Working Principle

It has two independent bilateral switching sections with opposite control logic, CMOS compatible enable pins, and low control voltages. Thanks to its high on-state resistance, this device has significantly lower power dissipation compared to other switching ICs.

Each of the two switching sections includes its own enable pin, which allows a single enable signal to control multiple multiplexer/demultiplexer switches. The enable pins are logically active low (low-true logic) and they can be used to connect each switch section together. When enabled, the switches are activated and current can flow through them; otherwise, they are disabled and no current can flow through them. The control logic of the DG211CY+ is further increased by its Schmitt trigger action, which enables the device to respond to input signals with any amplitude.

The DG211CY+ also has two buffers with a unity gain of 1x, one for each of the switches. The buffers provide excellent common-mode rejection ration, enabling the DG211CY+ to effectively eliminate noise and interference from external sources. The buffers also provide additional insulation for the output and reduce the effect of external conditions such as temperature fluctuations and supply voltage variations.
