The DS92LV1021TMS/NOPB is an advanced, 8-bit LVDS deserializer and integrated cable-equalizer designed to process Biphase Mark code (BMC) data encoded with a 101.7 MHz clock. This device can receive 32-bit data sets up to over 400 Mbps with a wide range of input levels from 200 mVp-p to 1200 mVp-p. The DS92LV1021TMS/NOPB includes slew-rate limiting for a low-EMI profile along with programmable offset and output swing levels.

The device is primarily used in applications that require data formatting and conversion for long distance data transfer, such as: Serial Digital Video (SDI) transmission, IEEE 1394a-2000(Firewire) to LVDS transmitters, cable modem transmission, unscrambled TTL to LVDS adapters, high-speed serial LVDS to TTL converters, etc. It can also be used in applications that do not require LVDS signals such as with PCI Express x1, x4 & x8, Serial ATA and Serial RapidIO applications. The DS92LV1021TMS/NOPB can also be used in applications that require multiple data I/Os, such as PCI Express and Gigabit Ethernet.

The device integrates all the essential functions required by high-speed data serializing applications. The integrated Cable Equalizer allows for skew-free matches of the differential input signals. This can pair with the integrated Level Shifter which provides programmable output swing configuration options. The Slew Rate Limiter provides an adjustable output slew rate for applications with high common-mode EMI noise, or an adjustable input suppression window for noise-sensitive, edge-critical serial communications. The Output Enable control and integrated reset circuit, the Serializer Power Down mode and the Serialization Soft Start allow for quick and easy power management in the system.

The DS92LV1021TMS/NOPB operates from a single 3.3V or 1.8V power supply, and is specified for operation over a wide temperature range from –40°C to +85°C. The device is available in a 48-pin, 4mm x 4mm LQFP package. The DS92LV1021TMS/NOPB is Ideal for many high-speed serial LVDS applications.
