DS92LV1023EMQ is a low power, single channel RS-232 serializer/deserializer that provides an easy communications interface to a 44-pin quad flatpack (QFP) for ESDA applications. The DS92LV1023EMQ provides an integrated, single-chip solution for full-duplex asynchronous serial communications over a single pair of wires. The device operates from a single 3.3V supply, reduces printed circuit board costs, accelerates time to market, and is the most cost-effective solution to reduce ESDA power consumption.
The DS92LV1023EMQ is ideal for voice-over-data applications, where data is compressed at the source and then multiplexed using a serializer. It simplifies design by providing synchronous data detection that runs in the background and supports a number of enhanced features including wake-up detection and data packet flow control. The device supports multiple clock format output options, selection of transmit data repeat cycles, and supports up to 110 Kbps data rate.

Working Principle:
The DS92LV1023EMQ device is a single-chip, full-duplex asynchronous serializer/deserializer interfacing with an external microcontroller. It supports a single serial data bit per clock with no additional data processing functions store embedded in the device. DS92LV1023EMQ differential signaling maximizes system noise immunity for reliable operation. The device is organized as a master/slave serializer/deserializer pair with configurable transmit (TX) and receive (RX) data coming from an external microcontroller. The master sends data to its slave, which is referred to as slave-out (SO). The slave receives data from its master, which is referred to as slave-in (SI).
The device supports a single, full-duplex communications channel providing asynchronous serial data transmission/reception. Both devices can operate independently or in a synchronous mode when configured as master/slave. When operating in synchronous mode, the serializer (master) will not begin transmitting a data bit until it has received acknowledgement from the deserializer (slave) that it has loaded the last data bit. Both devices must be operating in the same mode (synchronous or asynchronous) for successful data transfer.
The DS92LV1023EMQ supports data rates up to 110Kbps of serial data. It supports selectable 10/15, 8/16, and asynchronous data formats, where each bit of transmitted data is followed by a stop, start, or idle cycle. The device provides a wake-up detection feature to detect sequences consisting of idle, wake-up, and data cycles. It also supports a selectable repeat cycle for continuous transmission of data. The device supports two independent and programmable control outputs from the master device indicating the communication status.
The DS92LV1023EMQ features an integrated power-down mode that reduces power consumption significantly when the device is not in use. It is powered by a single 3.3V supply and is available in a 44-pin QFP package.
