The DS92LX1621SQ/X/NOPB is a 3-channel differential line receiver from Texas Instruments. It is part of TI\'s family of low power, single-ended devices for working in main and backplane bus connections in data communications and networking applications requiring data rates up to 16.21 Gbps.

The DS92LX1621SQ/X/NOPB is used in a variety of applications as a serializer/deserializer (SERDES) converter, fault isolation device or serial data transceiver. It can be used to convert multi-bit parallel data streams into one or more bit-serial format for transmission over a one-pair or two-pair high-speed differential network. It can also be used for direct interface between single-ended logic and differential lines. The device supports two-level coding of 0.3V to 1.2V HSTL (high speed transition limited) and it is designed to minimize ISI (inter-symbol interference) and crosstalk.

The DS92LX1621SQ/X/NOPB provides an integrated serial link protocol, eliminating the need for external logic cells and discrete components. The device supports 2.5V single-ended and differential logic signals, allowing flexibility in the design of advanced system requiring both low voltage and high speed. It has an input clock rate range of 400MHz to 2GHz, allowing application of a wide variety of data rates.

The device\'s operating principle is based on two-level coding, the two codings being Single-End Encoding and Differential Encoding. Single-ended encoding works by encoding a set of data bits into a transition on one line and the reverse transition on a second line. This method is more immune to noise on the bus and reduces power consumption. Differential encoding is similar to single-ended encoding in that it works by encoding a set of data bits into one line and another transition on a second line. However, differential encoding is sonstructionmore sensitive to noise on the bus and increases power consumption.

The DS92LX1621SQ/X/NOPB supports a wide range of applications in data communications and networking, including Fibre Channel, InfiniBand, Ethernet, Serial ATA, Serial Attached SCSI, USB 3.0, PCI Express, DisplayPort and DisplayPort+ (also known as DisplayPort++). The device can also be used as a differential transceiver or as a fault isolation device. Its wide range of features combined with low power consumption and high performance make it a suitable solution for high-speed data communication applications.
