EGP10D Application Field and Working PrincipleThe EGP10D is a silicon general-purpose diode found in many electronic circuits and has a wide range of applications. This single-rectifier diode provides a wide range of current, voltage, and thermal ratings, making it an ideal component for many types of industrial and consumer applications.The EGP10D, also called a rectifier diode or a single-rectifier diode, is a two-terminal semiconductor device that is designed to allow only one type of current flow through it (either positive or negative polarity). Conversely, when a reverse voltage is applied, the diode does not allow a current flow and the voltage drops across it. This prevents reverse current from flowing and ensures that the voltage remains at the same level. The EGP10D has a forward junction voltage of 0.68v and a forward current (at a maximum range) of 9A.The EGP10D is also designed to dissipate heat effectively and protect against overloads. It has a maximum junction temperature rating of 150°C. Moreover, the junction temperature rating is specified with a derating factor and depends on the operating position of the diode.
