FEBFAN25801-MPSLDO1-GEVB Evaluation Boards - Linear Voltage Regulators

Linear voltage regulators are commonly used in applications to maintain consistent voltage levels in power sources. The FEBFAN25801-MPSLDO1-GEVB evaluation board is specifically designed to demonstrate the operations of a programmable linear voltage regulator. The device remains in a low power state until the voltage drops below the preset threshold. When this occurs, the device will switch to a higher power state, regulating the voltage back to the preset level.The FEBFAN25801-MPSLDO1-GEVB evaluation board is powered by an external power supply that can be adjustable from 0-1.8V. The board contains an input buffer, a voltage reference, a feedback/protection circuitry, and a series of control logic components. The board also contains a voltage comparator circuit which compares the input voltage against a reference voltage level. When the voltage exceeds the preset level, the comparator will send a signal to the programmable linear voltage regulator which will activate and then switch to a higher power state. The FEBFAN25801-MPSLDO1-GEVB also has an onboard voltage range selectable switch which allows the user to select the input voltage level. This will enable the linear voltage regulator to switch to a higher power state before the voltage drops below the preset levels. This feature also provides a failsafe allowing the linear voltage regulator to protect the power source from overvoltage conditions. In addition to regulating voltage, the FEBFAN25801-MPSLDO1-GEVB also provides thermal protection and current limiting. The board has a thermal Sensor which will monitor the temperature of the components on the board. When the temperature exceeds a certain pre-determined level, the thermal sensor will activate and will shut off the power supply until the temperature has dropped to an acceptable level. The board also contains a current limiter, which monitors the current draw of the device. When the current draw exceeds the preset limit, the current limiter will activate and reduce the voltage to a safe level. Finally, the FEBFAN25801-MPSLDO1-GEVB also contain multiple test points which allow for quick and easy evaluations of the regulator\'s performance. Additional features on the board include: on-board diagnostic LED’s, adjustable operating frequencies, and remote programming/configuration capabilities. The FEBFAN25801-MPSLDO1-GEVB evaluation board is a versatile and cost-effective solution for many applications which require reliable and consistent voltage regulation. The versatility of the board enables it to be used in a variety of applications from industrial controls to consumer electronics.
