Diodes - Bridge Rectifiers are components used to convert alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC). GBL01-E3/45 is a low-cost bridge rectifier with a max forward current of 3A and a maximum peak repetitive reverse voltage of 45V. It is widely used in applications such as AC power supplies, UPS power supplies, electric power tools, and various converter circuits.
Application Field
- Power Supply: GBL01-E3/45 is used in power supplies that require low power conversion, such as adapter transformers, or AC to DC converters. It is also used in devices such as AC/DC adaptors, UPS systems, uninterruptible power supplies, voltage stabilizers, and power monitoring devices.

Working Principle
A bridge rectifier consists of four diodes connected in a bridge configuration and is used to convert alternating current to direct current. In the GBL01-E3/45, the two diodes with the arrow pointing to the left are connected to the negative terminal. The two diodes pointing the arrow to the right connect the cathode voltage to the AC input terminal.When the alternating current is applied to the diode bridge, the diodes conduct current one after the other in both directions, allowing the current in the circuit to flow in only one direction. This is because two diodes are always in the forward direction, allowing the current to flow from anode to cathode. When the AC input reverses direction, the two diodes closest to it switch their forward direction, and the direction of current flow in the circuit remains constant.The voltage across the load is the same as the peak voltage of the applied AC waveform. The diode bridge offers low power loss and low impedance when the load is driven by a high voltage.
