GP10-4002E-M3/54 is a single rectifier diode. It is known for being able to handle high currents and voltages, making it suitable for applications where high power is required. In order to maintain low resistance path for the electron current flow from the N-type material to the P type material, the junction semiconductor material is designed in such a manner to form depletion region on either side of the PN junction plane.

Apart from blocking current flow during reverse bias, GP10-4002E-M3/54 single rectifier diode is also used as part of voltage clamping circuit to protect sensitive electronic components from the over voltage condition. This is due to the general rise in the voltage across the diode proportional to the amount of current that is passing through it during the forward biased condition.

Another major application of GP10-4002E-M3/54 single rectifier diode is its use as a rectifier. This is due to the fact that it can be used to convert alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC). During the forward biased condition, the diode behaves as an open switch that allows the positive cycle of the AC waveform to pass through with low resistance.
