HIP4082IBZTS2366A is a monolithic power integrated circuit (PMIC - Gate Drivers) designed for driving high-performance power MOSFETS. It offers a high performance solution with minimal external components. The circuit provides a rate of current ramp of up to 4A/µs and a maximum gate drive voltage of 15V. The HIP4082IBZTS2366A has many features such as half bridge configuration, integrated over current protection and thermal protection.The gate driver circuit consists of a comparator, logic control circuits, high-current output drivers and control logic. The logic control circuits are used for controlling the switching of the power MOSFETS. The comparator is the most sensitive part of the circuit; it monitors the internal supply voltage and provides a reference voltage which is used to compare the voltage at the gate of the power MOSFET. This comparison is used to determine when to switch the gate and when not to. If the gate voltage is below the reference voltage, the gate is opened and the power MOSFET is switched on; if the gate voltage is above the reference, the gate is closed and the power MOSFET is switched off. The HIP4082IBZTS2366A also features an adjustable over current protection (OCP) circuit. This is an important feature as it protects the circuit from damage due to excessive current. The OCP is adjustable and can be configured to trip between 8A and 15A.In addition, the HIP4082IBZTS2366A has an integrated thermal protection and short circuit protection. The thermal protection circuit helps to protect theICfromoverheating; ithat mean when the internal temperature of the IC exceeds its rated limits, the thermal protection circuit will switch off the power MOSFETs. The short circuit protection feature also helps to protect the IC from damage due to excessive current.The HIP4082IBZTS2366A is suitable for a wide range of applications such as high-efficiency power converters, high-density power supplies, AC-DC applications, DC-DC applications and battery management systems. The device is also available in different package sizes such as SOIC, SLP,NST,DFN and QFN packages.Overall, the HIP4082IBZTS2366A can be used to control the switching of high-performance power MOSFETS with minimal external components. It provides adjustable over current protection, integrated thermal protection and short circuit protection. Its wide range of package options makes it suitable for many different applications.
