The HIP6019BEVAL1 is an evaluation board designed for off-line AC/DC and DC/DC SMPS applications. This application field and the working principle behind it can be broken down into several components.
At the heart of such power converters is the topology that defines the circuit architecture. In the case of off-line converters, the most commonly used topology is the flyback type. In this type, power is transferred during discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) by using a primary inductor.
