The HMC988LP3E is a high performance monolithic PLL Synthesizer for clock generation applications. It features a low jitter PLL frequency synthesizer, four low-noise, low-phase noise buffers, a wide input range for the references and a wide output frequency range for the VCO.

The HMC988LP3E Clock Generator is designed to provide very low jitter PLL frequency synthesizers with up to 6 fOUT. The PLL consists of the VCO, LPF, Frequency Divider and Signal Path Synthesizer. The input range can be between 1.2 – 10 MHz while the output frequency range is from 10 – 2000 MHz depending on the die used.

The HMC988LP3 makes use of advanced PLL loop compensation and loop shaping techniques to ensure that the output clock can maintain high accuracy and low jitter across the entire frequency range.
